Erica D‘amico

    Erica hails from Sicily and began her training at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome, graduating in 2014. From 2015 to 2019, she attended the Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance in Munich, where she enriched her artistic and expressive identity.

    She has presented her work on various dance platforms, such as the Open Stage “Who is next?” organized by TanzWerkEuropa in 2017 and the “HIER=JETZT” platform in 2019. She reached the finals of the International Dance Solo Theatre Competition in Stuttgart.

    Since then, Erica has worked as a freelance dancer and choir director based in Munich. She has worked with, among others, the Johannes Haertl Company and the Bavarian State Opera in the opera Carmen. In 2021, she was a dancer in a choreographed video production of Lucia di Lammermoor choreographed by Dustin Klein at the Hamburg State Opera.

    She is a performer in “Shifting Perspectives” by Franz Erhald Walther at the Haus der Kunst, Munich, and participated in a collective residency by Timothy Nouzak in Tanz Tendenz. Erica’s new creations, “When Mirroring” and “Kindly Restricted,” premiered in Munich at the dance festival “Make it” and at “HIER=JETZT” 2021. She has been a dancer in the productions We are here by Anna Konietzny (Muffathalle Munich) and Arcadia by Christina D’Alberto.

    Most recently, she was a performer in Johanna Richter’s production “fear.less.”
