Tom Hauser

Tom Hauser comes from an extremely musical family and learned the accordion as a child, piano, guitar, euphonium, electric and double bass. After numerous band projects in his youth, he first became a carpenter and then decided to undergo extensive training as a bassist, composer and producer. From 2004 he studied double bass, electric bass, piano, music production & composition at the Musikhochschule in Würzburg. At the Prince Claus Conservatorium in Groningen he came into lively exchange with the jazz scene in New York at “New York Comes to Groningen” in 2007. As a graduate musician with top marks, he moved to Munich in 2010, where he became a master student of the Brazilian double bassist Paolo Cardoso and graduated with honors. In 2011, he completed composition studies for film, theater and media in Zurich and subsequently founded his own production company, Dreamshelter Music. Tom participated in workshops and masterclasses with Marcus Miller, Joris Teepe, Don Braden, Ralph Peterson, David Bergman, Gene Jackson and Bugge Wesseltoft. He is music producer of pop and jazz CDs of numerous artists such as Rückenwind, Katharina Busch, Devi Reith, Moira, Housewife Productions and Wiedmann, Mai Ann, Marree Lawn, Leonie Leuchtenmüller, Stefanie Tornow. On tours, festivals and radio and TV productions all over Europe he played with his own band “Rückenwind”, Katharina Busch, Levin, Ricky Lee Kroell, Big Eazie, Dusko Goykovich, Leszek Zadlo, Hubert Winter, Andy Lutter, Valentin Preissler, Tine Schneider, Don Braden, Matthias Schriefl, Christian Elsässer and Devi Reith. Since 2020 he is on the road with his solo project Tom Hauser & Band and will release his first solo album “Offenes Herz” in 2021.
